About us

The Asia-Europe Society is an international network of individuals and institutions in Asia and Europe that aspire to deepen the partnership between the two regions on the local, national, regional, and inter-regional level.

The AES aims to establish a unique platform for the people of Asia and Europe to engage in concrete projects and become part of a wider network that actively supports the goals of the ASEM process and its initiatives.

It provides a forum to “to implement action-oriented initiatives which synchronize with other relevant cooperation at the regional, sub-regional and bilateral levels”, in the spirit of the Helsinki Declaration on the future of ASEM.

The AES engages key stakeholders – individuals and institutions - from all sectors of Asian and European societies (government, business, civil society) to foster greater co-operation and mutual understanding between the two regions.
